About Karen Locker, Therapist and Life Coach at NJTLC in Voorhees, NJ

I understand how difficult life can become when you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward. With over 20 years of experience helping adults and couples, I have worked with individuals facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relationship challenges. Together, we can work toward creating greater peace, fulfillment, balance, and meaning in your daily life. Individual therapy is tailored specifically to your unique needs, goals, strengths, and circumstances. I specialize in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, addiction issues, life transitions, stress management, and other emotional concerns. While it is often difficult to know where to turn during challenging times, I firmly believe that psychotherapy can lead to meaningful and lasting change. Sometimes the hardest step is simply reaching out for support. Once that step is taken, the path forward often becomes much clearer.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, mood-related concerns, grief, relationship problems, or simply feeling dissatisfied with your current circumstances, I am here to listen, understand, and help. I use approaches that have been shown through clinical research to be effective, while also recognizing that every individual is unique. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Together, we will identify the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be contributing to your distress and develop practical strategies to help you achieve your goals. I do not believe therapy should consist solely of listening. Rather, I take an active, collaborative approach that includes meaningful feedback, practical guidance, and honest discussion designed to help you make real progress.

Many of the people I work with are successful, capable individuals who are accustomed to solving problems on their own. Yet even the most resilient people can encounter circumstances that feel too difficult to manage without support. Therapy provides an opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and gain a clearer understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you face. It is a space where you can speak openly and without judgment while developing new perspectives and skills that can improve your emotional well-being and quality of life. My goal is not only to help you feel better in the moment, but also to provide you with tools and insights that continue to serve you long after therapy has ended.

I know that reaching out for help can feel uncomfortable, especially if you have never participated in counseling before. For this reason, I strive to create a safe, comfortable, confidential, and professional environment where you can feel at ease discussing even the most personal concerns. Over the course of my 20-year career, I have integrated therapeutic techniques and approaches, allowing me to tailor treatment to each individual's specific needs. No matter where you find yourself today, change is possible. I would be honored to help guide and support you through this important journey toward greater emotional health, stronger relationships, and a more fulfilling life. If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to contact me today.
